Investing in our Students & Faculty
Of the many opportunities available for supporting the LSU School of Music, none more directly affect the quality of our students and faculty than Scholarships. The information below outlines the basic guidelines for creating an endowed scholarship in the area of one's choosing. Endowed accounts are a wonderful way to leave a legacy for you, a loved one, a special teacher or a friend.

Endowed Scholarships
Endowed scholarships in music are made available through the College of Music & Dramatic Arts and held in the LSU Foundation. Endowed scholarships provide perpetual awards based on the earnings of the endowment. Endowed scholarship accounts must have a principal of at least $40,000 to be created. Scholarships are awarded to students meeting the criteria outlined in the Donor Scholarship Agreement.

Generally speaking, criteria are based on a combination of the following factors
(an example is listed for each)
· Academic requirements a scholarship for the student with the highest GPA in composition
· Skill/talent a scholarship for the student displaying the highest level of artistry in cello (for example) to be determined by the instructor/scholarship committee
· Area
a scholarship for an incoming music education student (for example)
· Level of Study a scholarship for an incoming graduate student
