LSU Percussion
The LSU Percussion Ensemble consists of Percussion Majors and non-Majors who are admitted by audition. It is dedicated to performing at a high standard a wide variety of literature chosen for its substance and pedagogical value. Concert programs include pieces ranging from traditional to contemporary, novelty to transcriptions, and marimba ensembles to Caribbean Steel Drum music. Size of pieces range from three to twenty players. In addition to performing its regular on campus, end-of-semester concerts, the LSUPE has performed at several Louisiana Days of Percussion and at the Louisiana Music Educators Association Convention. The group rehearses on Tuesdays for two hours (1:40 - 3:30) and Thursdays for one hour (2:40 - 3:30). Contact Brett Dietz for more information.
