Bring the joy of live music to your special event! The LSU School of Music can provide outstanding performers for almost any occasion. Our freelance performance opportunities offer students the chance to develop strong professional and career skills. Performance opportunities can be one-time events or recurring performances. Typical gigs arranged through the LSU School of Music office include weddings or receptions, corporate functions, and atmosphere entertainment. Artists referred are students earning music degrees at LSU, renowned for the quality and depth of its performance programs and have been vetted by the LSU faculty. School of Music faculty are sometimes also available.

Hiring a musician can be a difficult process for the non-musician. You will want to consider the space, date and time, and atmosphere you are trying to create. We can assist in developing the optimum performance for you.

A partial checklist of information to include in your email
· Is the date, time, and location of the event solidified?
· What is your budget?
· What type of atmosphere do you want to create?
· Is the location/venue suitable for musicians?
· Is there a piano? When was it last tuned?
