As part of LSU’s College of Music & Dramatic Arts, the School of Music offers its students one of the nation’s most comprehensive programs, including your choice of three undergraduate degrees, three graduate degrees, and countless opportunities. Accredited by the National Association of Schools of Music since 1931, the program includes approximately 70 faculty and staff members, 300 undergraduates, and 150 graduate students. Divisions include academic studies, bands, ensembles and conducting, instrumental, keyboard, music education, and voice/opera.

The Undergraduate Program offers degrees in:

→ Bachelor of Arts in Music
→ Bachelor of Music (composition, performance, piano pedagogy)
→ Bachelor of Music Education (instrumental and vocal)

The Graduate Program offers degrees of:

→ Master of Music in the following concentrations: brass performance, choral conducting, collaborative keyboard, composition, harp performance, jazz studies, music education, music theory, musicology, orchestral conducting, percussion performance, piano pedagogy, piano performance, string performance, vocal performance, wind conducting, and woodwind performance.

→ Doctor of Musical Arts in the following concentrations: brass performance, choral conducting, harp performance, orchestral conducting, percussion performance, piano performance, string performance, vocal performance, wind conducting, and woodwind performance.

→ Doctor of Philosophy in Music in: composition, experimental music & digital media, music theory, and music history.
