Prospective Students
As part of LSU’s College of Music & Dramatic Arts, the School of Music offers its students one of the nation’s most comprehensive programs, including your choice of three undergraduate degrees, three graduate degrees, and countless opportunities. Accredited by the National Association of Schools of Music since 1931, the program includes approximately 70 faculty and staff members, 300 undergraduates, and 150 graduate students. Divisions include academic studies, bands, ensembles and conducting, instrumental, keyboard, music education, and voice/opera.

The Undergraduate Program offers degrees in:
→ Bachelor of Arts in Music
→ Bachelor of Music (composition, performance, piano pedagogy)
→ Bachelor of Music Education (instrumental and vocal)


The Graduate Program offers degrees in:
→ Master of Music (collaborative piano, composition, conducting, music education, musicology, performance, piano pedagogy, theory)
→ Doctor of Musical Arts (choral conducting, performance, wind conducting)
→ Doctor of Philosophy in Music (composition, experimental music & digital media, music education, musicology, music theory)
