The LSU Jazz Ensemble was formed in 1980 to promote the mainstream and contemporary big-band jazz idiom. The band regularly performs with guest artists. Participation in this ensemble is by an audition held just prior to the beginning of classes each semester. Any LSU student is eligible to audition.
